How an inspection runs

  1. Agree the scope We confirm what will be inspected, against which codes, standards and documents, and what the report will contain.
  2. Plan We agree hold and witness points with you and the manufacturer, and schedule visits around production.
  3. Inspect Inspections and tests are carried out and recorded, with photographs where useful.
  4. Report You receive a clear report with findings, non-conformities and recommendations, so you can decide on release.

Scope and independence

Inspection requirements and deliverables depend on the project scope, the applicable codes and standards, and the arrangements agreed in writing. API 510 inspections are performed by appropriately certified personnel.

Mekintra is not a certification body or a statutory authority. Where a project needs an accredited inspection body, a notified body or a statutory inspection, we coordinate with organisations that hold the required accreditation.
